You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink," is an old saying that is not exactly true, because anybody that's ever been around horses would know if the horse didn't want to go to water then it wouldn't.
My uncle who was very fond of
horsed, loved his black horse to an extent that I understand. He unfortunately suffered
an accident and is no longer with us; however his faithful horse after
realizing he would never see his best friend again stopped eating. He made a
strange sound as if the pain was too strong to ignore. He’s sad eyes lurking
from the stables would only broadcast the instability his heart couldn’t bare
anymore. He’s eyes resembled the pain the members of our family had at that particular
moment. He was to weary, walking wasn’t an option anymore, he died of sadness. When
I stand near a horse I find myself talking to a soul that listens and
understands, which explains my obsession.
Horses
are the
dolphins of the plains, the spirits of the wind; yet we sit astride them for
the sake of being well-groomed, whereas they could have all the desire in the
world to bolt, but instead, they adjust their speed and grace, only to please
us, never to displease.

Sadly my grandmother had to leave the dog behind with friends she knew, when she moved abroad. I don't think the dog ever recovered with losing his family and sadly passed away. We couldn't bring the dog abroad what with the climate, vaccinations and he was a farm dog. But we remember him dearly..
